OK to all the old @$$ people saying "you're to young to be depressed..." Kill yourself if being older is such a hard thing to cope with. And to the religious people (while i have religious beliefs myself) get a freaking grip, everything cant always be about religion.Even as a religious person I can see why so manypeople are against religion. Try helping someone first, then they will trust you and then you can bring up religion every now and then and introduce it slowly. Saying "trust in God or burn in hell.." to every problem people have only gets them more annoyed. Anyway, as I always say, most of the problems posted on this thing cannot be answered by the general public but by self evaluation. This is no different. But in my case all I needed was to get some self confidence and get out of the same old town and away from what was depressing me. Seeing the world helped alot! Meeting new people and doing things i had never done before. Ofcourse few have the money for this. Neither did I. I did it by joining the military. The world is a great place and sometimes all you need is to get out of that routine you call life. I'm out of the military now and I'm not saying it was all fun and games, but it gave me the boost and the tools I needed for a succesful life. I now make six figures a year b/c of the skills the military taught me, and i'm 23. You'll be supprised how much financial security helps fight depression.Even though money isn't everything, it dang sure helps.

first realise you are not alone. many people suffer from depression. depression can be very disabling, stopping you from leading a full happy life. also there is not always a quick cure for depression. be kind to yourself, and realise, there will be a lot of work and understanding on your part . also sometimes when you think the depression is gone, there it comes back again. mental health is an ongoing process, with many ups and downs. there are many medicines which help with depression, some are : ZOLOFT, LEXAPRO, AMTRIPLINE. also an herbal cure used many times is ST. JOHNS WORT. there are also other herb teas that help.i would try the herbal treatment first. also you need someone you can trust to talk to . see if you can find such a person in your life. faith is also important, miricles are preformed every day, maybe one can be for you. have patience with yourself and the process. it takes time, and maybe you won't be perfect, but if just ok is all you've got , well allright then.

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.

Depression Free Method?

I have overcome depression. I would suggest that you see a psychiatrist and a psychologist. Between the two of them they will inform you and advise you as to what is the best. There is hope even though it might not seem like it at the moment. Good luck. Don't leave it because it might manifest itself.

Please go and see your Doctor ASAP. I suffered post Natal Depression and didn't have it treated. 5years and 2 kids later, and having a son with Autism, I hit rock bottom. I was self medicating with alcohol and my life was a mess. I actually had melt down one day and sat in a corner rocking and crying.
Now, since I have been on medication life is much brighter. A simple tablet a day and whilst I'm not dancing on the ceiling with happiness, I can cope with lifes situations.
If I had of known how easy help was, I would have got it 5 years ago and saved myself and family a lot of grief.
Please go see your GP right now.

Depression plays tricks on you. It tells you things are hopeless, when there's hope. It tells you life is only suffering, when there is joy and love to be discovered. It tells you that you can't do this or that, when you can take action in spite of your feelings It tells you there's no way out, when there is a way out. Our natural response to feeling depressed is to try to find a way to feel better. This sounds reasonable but it sets us off on an endless loop of focusing on our feelings and trying to fix them directly with our mind. Generally, this doesn't work - what you pay attention to grows. Our feelings fluctuate -- all feelings, including depression. We notice this process. We accept whatever feelings arise. We stop fighting with the feelings we don't like and take them with us as we go about our work in the world. As we learn to coexist with our depression, the depression loses its power over us. We conquer depression through acceptance, activity and purpose.

to overcome

Get your body moving - exercise - even though you don't feel like it
Change your diet - among other things, eliminate sugar and caffeine
Take steps to resolve or change your life situation (address your problems constructively)
Learn the skill of "coexisting with unpleasant feelings" (accept what cannot be controlled)
Learn to work skillfully with your attention
Practice self-reflection to get a more accurate picture of your reality (see maxim below)
Find a purpose that is worth living and striving for

Consuling and or medication can help. Depression can be related to a chemical imbalance of the brain. See a professional to get the help you want. You can try the herb St. John's Wort but you can't tell if your getting the correct amount and or strength. Not to mention the headache it can cause. GOOD LUCK!!!

well as i was also in depression sometime before, what u can do is that u should try to find out on which thing u r good and try to be happy and try to think positve and belive that u r different from other in some manner and thats why u r special. just think positive and belive in ur self is better to be proud than not having confidence in ur self
