Sometimes a suicide attempt is really an attempt to make someone else feel guilty. This is painful if you're the someone else. But it really has nothing to do with you.

The person who attempted suicide was obviously confused and deeply upset. You can't hold yourself responsible for that. Carry on with your life and give love when you're able. Not everyone will expect you to rescue them from their pain and confusion.

No one should ever feel the blame for someone else's suicide attempt no matter what. I have worked in psychiatry for 24 years. When a person decides to take his/her own life they have made that decision because they feel that is the only way out of the pain they are going through inside. They somehow feel it is the only way out of the pain they are going through. They are not thinking about the others that are left behind. Their rational thinking is that this is going to make things better for everyone. So please stop blaming yourself. It is not your fault. For whatever reason this person decided to take his/her own life it was to be at peace with his/her self. Try to move on with your life and remember good things about that person.

Only in America where people don't take personal responsibility can you be held responsible for pushing someone else over the edge. In a reasonable and less insane so not American way, no of course not and it's foolish to think otherwise.

If you push someone over the edge then yes, you can be blamed. This sounds crazy but sometimes people get charged with manslaughter if there is strong evidence that they were the cause of a suicide.

Every person has their own free will. Unless you handed them the noose, you can not be blamed. However guilt is a real thing no matter how unwarranted. Can you seek counselling help? Also, keep reminding yourself it was attempted not sucessful, thank god.

A suicide attempt is absolutely noone's fault other than the person who attempted it. They had options to seek treatment, to get out of what was bothering them, etc.

If someone is determined to kill themselves it is what they think they want.

You are or anyone else is going to be responsible and remember you can not make anyone feel anything it is their own issues

hope you feel better

you cant and you shouldnt be...........the only way you could be blamed is if you know when, where and how it was going to take place and you didnt do anything to stop it.
