Insurance follows the car not you. If I have a insured car and lend it to you and you reck it....it would be my policy who would be the primary coverage on the wreck. Now if the accident was big enough to go above and beyond my current limits then your limits would kick in. Of course this doesn't even get into the fact how the party that you hit can still sue you for damages even after tehy collect from my insurance policy. It can get real messy

Not sure what this question means. If you are asking if your insurance will pay if you have an accident driving someone else's car, the answer is that the owners insurance is primary. The insurance follows the car, not the driver. If you are asking a question about comp (comprehensive) coverage, this covers you for theft of the vehicle, fire, flood, hitting an animal, hail, broken glass, etc.

Maybe. Insurance primarily follows the car. If your car is insured, anyone can drive it with your permission as long as the policy does not exclude them (by name, age restrictions, license restrictions, etc.).
Some policies will cover you as excess insurance on any other vehicle you drive while others will only cover a "temporary substitute vehicle" while yours is disabled or being repaired.
Read your insurance policy carefully to verify what your coverage is.

Generally yes, but always, ALWAYS check your policy details to see if there is an exception clause on the schedule.
As some other people have advised the cover will only be Third Party Only, this means if you damaged the vehicle your driving, your going to be having some interesting conversations with the owner!
Also this benefit only extends to the policyholder, not any named drivers!

No you are not. Your insurance is written on a specific car. You can get insurance that covers you in any car but was expensive. Check with your agent to be sure and safe.
