Has anyone had any professional scarification done? I just want to know more about it, and what the process is like, compared to tattooing. Thanks.

I never had it done and I never even thought about having it done either. It is very painful and just the thought of having a red hot stainless steel piece of metal put against my body doesn't seem like a pleasant thing to do. I sent you 2 websites that you can read more about it. The first website are pictures and the second site is a FAQ on scarification.

Scarification if done properly and taken care of can look nice, however this painful and overly time consuming procedure can be butchered and screwed up quite easily. Infections are a common issue and unlike tattoos, you can't easily or effectively undo this.

Personally, I don't like it and consider it to be a morbid form of self mutilation, not art.

ive never had "professional" scarring done but most scarring is not attractive. it hurts quite a bit and its permanent. you might could fix it with sometype of reconstructive surgery... branding with THIN wire can be attractive depending on the design but it also hurts badly as it is burning your flesh

i did a bit of research on this recently and it looks rather painful but the results are quite exquisite.
