is it more common in certain areas of the country? i hardly see it around chicago. i do however see more black guys with with asian girls and it hardly seems like a big deal. why the double standard? i'm going to go ahead and date who i want but i realize that there's a rough road ahead if i go ahead with it. if you're black or asian, would u frown upon it? have u ever seen this kind of couple or know anyone?

oh i know i'll do what i want. it just bothers me that others can't be ok with that. i already know a lot of my asian friends are going to say something but i'm willing to deal with it. i also know a lot of her friends will too. its unavoidable. also u can't really compare black and white. to many, its a whole different story. asian and white is even a whole different story. i wish asian/black wasn't such a huge deal.

yes i do know what love is. my last gf was white and that wasn't really a big deal at all for other people. for some reason certain interracial mixes are more acceptable to ppl than others are.

she even warned me that i'm going to have to get used to people coming up and saying things in public, not just staring.

Well, it isn't that common but it shoulnd't be that big of a deal. It is after all 2006!! Don't worry about it, and concentrate on making your relationship work. There will always be double standards, especially concerning black women, which I still haven't quite figured why. I mean, I see black men everywhere with girls of different ethnicities but it seems that black women dating other races is frowned upon.
Oh well, that's not your problem and good luck you two!

come on, it's the 2000s ,it would be a big deal if u think it is.who cares what race you're dating?and do people often ask "oh so what race is ur gf/bf?"of course there will be some difficultes due to different cultures but which relationship doesn't?so just go ahead and date whoever u want!and yeah i've seen lots of interracial couples in australia.good luck!

I've seen it in NYC, rarely though. But, anyway, I wouldn't frown upon it; that's what free will is about.. be with whom you want to be with and don't make other people's negative reactions and opinions stop you. It's a rough road for any 'interracial' couple because someone somewhere will more likely disagree with it, but that's life.
**My mom has this saying: These people who disagree with it don't pay your bills, so what right do they have to tell you what you can or can't do? [crazy, but true lol]

I remember walking and holding hands with my Asian friend.. it was like an oddity for everyone who saw us walking, but we didn't care :)
So, go for it.

I think people should be able to date or marry any one that they like I think race and religion gays or starights should not keep you from loveing who you love. Ive know this couple who were white and black dateing and they had it rough from some of the siciety around them but it didnt matter for them. They triumphed through it and have been together for 6 years now. Do as you want and love who you want.

It's not a big deal at all... either is a white girl dating a black guy. If they love each other that is all that matters. If anyone says differently they are bigoted and racist.

hey there =)
i think its no big deal if you date a black girl. I myself have been with a different race person. although is uncommon here but i just went on with dating him.
cuz i think that its your choice who you want to date with. you are going to be with that girl. you are not being with anyone else so why matter what they think ? if what people think is going to stop you from being with someone wonderful, then wouldn't that be a waste?
anyway, i guess what matters is what both of you think. if both of you dont mind being with someone of different skin colour then go ahead ! ^^
all the best =)

Im wondering, man,I mean do you konw what love is?
Its an incovenience we afford ourselves.
A marriage of hearts not skin pigmentation.
I live in Africa.Black as Coal.
My girl quite the opposite.A "colored".
Even being alone without me in the picture is tough. She has no"home" cauz she is neither white nor black. Understand?
