Any tips? They take forever to heat up, and "med" is really super high!!! I just burned my favorite recipe. Let's not even talk about what happens with a wok!!!! >:(

I can feel your cookin' pain. Try using seasoned cast iron cook wear (seasoned = baked at 350, middle rack, for like an hour coated in crisco, yes crisco, line the bottom of the oven with tin foil).

If the cooking elements (big coil that heats up) are old check on the net for the brand name web site for possible replacement coils.

Also they make these pans than are specially designed for electric stoves that help to radiate the heat out more equally, truth is I've never used them and I think they might be expensive.

It's just something you have to get used to. Try letting the burner heat up on £, then change it to 2 when you're actually cooking. Maybe a handy tip: dont leave your food! When you're done (or the dish more like), just remove from the stove and turn it off. I kinda use it the same way as I use gas. Good luck!

Yeh gas is the way to go. Electric stoves suck down to much electricity.

They suck because they don't dissipate heat evenly and they take almost as long to cool down as they do to heat up.
