We Muslims believe in One God, we also believe that God sent messengers to human beings so that they may be guided. Our prophets are Abraham (peace be upon him), Moses (peace be upon him), Solomon (peace be upon him), Isaac (peace be upon him), Ishmael (peace be upon him), Jesus (peace be upon him) and many others.

We believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) was a prophet and not son of God. We believe in his miraculous birth (without a father), we also believe that he is the christ, we believe in his second coming.

We do refer to God as the Father, but in Spiritual sense only. Holy Spirit in Islam refers to Angel Gabriel.

We believe that prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last messenger of God and there will be none after him. We believe that God has chosen Islam as the religion of all people till the Judgement Day. We believe whoever dies outside Islam goes to Hellfire, we also believe that associating anybody to God and taking up other deities as gods is a great sin (including worshipping Jesus (peace be upon him)).

We are taught to respect everybody, and Islam teaches justice. We have to be just even to our enemies. We are taught to never lie. We are taught to pray to God and remember Him always, we pray 5 times a day. Fast the whole month of ramadhan every year. And we give charity to the poor and needy.

We pray to the direction of Kaaba (Mecca) because that is the first house of God that was built by prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) himself.

We believe that God is Merciful and He can forgive any sins if the person repents and accepts Islam, we also believe that God's punishment is severe!

And finally Allah in arabic means The One God. And it's used by the Arabic speaking Christians to refer to God. And it was used by Jesus (peace be upon him) himself in his Aramaic language as "Allaaha".

That's my religion Islam, and I am muslim!

Slave to JC: We believe that the person on the cross was not Jesus (pbuh), rather it was Judas who betrayed him. Jesus never died, he was raised up to Heavens. He will live and die a natural death after he descends. So no blood is needed. And no blood is needed for any sins in Islam, just your prayers and sincere repentence from Allah.

JewishGirl's: The purpose of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is to guide the mankind to the Truth, so that they believe in One and Only God. Also, eventhough we believe in the Second Coming of Jesus (pbuh), we take him as our prophet (servant of Allah) whereas in Christianity he is god, or son of God. We consider that a great sin, associating any deity to Allah.

WiseBonzai: Please read the history. Islam has many new Shariah rulings that Christianity didn't have. Since the Source is One, the main message is the same - to belive in God.

subodh: I understand other religions teachings, and I have no problems with any religion. However it's not in any Muslims' hands to change what God has decreed and that is all idolaters will go to Hell, unless they repent and accept One God, instead of worshipping His creations. (It sounds harsh but this harsh words are the truth, and truth is bitter) This is Islam's stand, and this is both Christianity and Judaism's stand as well. All revealed religions (which was sent by God) have similar stand on this.

hoho-haha: The Message of Quran is applicable today and will be applicable tomorrow, in fact till the Judgement Day. Because that's the promise of God. All previous religions were corrupted because their followers edited the holy books and modified the verses and their meanings. And now what we have is a book that is a man's work and no longer God's words.

upsman: If the God's message was not corrupted in the four gospels God would not have sent new religion. The purpose of the new religion (Islam) and its contradictions with Christianity is to correct it, so that Christians may be guided. If you see the differences between Islam and Christianity then study them and accept whichever you think right. Because God gave every person intellect and freewill. And every person will be accountable for their own actions, not father for son's, nor son for father's actions, neither Jesus (pbuh) for all who follow him.

Yes, I knew that. I'm a Christian but I love learning about religion. Islam is fascinating, and is so close in origin to Chrisitanity and Judaism. After all, most religions seem to have come from one place! Peace be with you too! :)

You have every right to worship as you please. But I still say that Islam accepts the 4 gospels and yet it conflicts with the 4 gospels in many places. Either Mohammad was right or the gospel writers were. The gospel writers were on the scene living with Jesus. Mohammad came 600 years later. Why should I believe him over them since they were eye-witnesses. One of the places that christianity and islam differ is that christianity says Jesus died on a cross and Islam says He didn't. Again, the gospel writers were there. There were also non-christian secular historians like josephus, tacitus, suetonius, pliny the younger(all of whom also lived at that time) who also said Jesus died on a cross. Then there are thousands of documents written by the church fathers and early christian scholars between the death of Christ and the birth of Mohammad who also said He died on a cross. In fact, the only historians you'll ever find who don't believe he died on a cross are islamic historians who have an axe to grind. Mohammad was just flat out wrong. But he said he got that from God. Can God be wrong?
I know what you're going to say. You're going to say that christians and jews corrupted the scriptures. But Mohammad didn't say that. He accepted the gospels and the pentateuch and the psalms and much of the Old Testament as well as some of the New Testament. He just didn't realize that his view was different than the original writers(most of whom were eye-witnesses). It wasn't until about 1050AD, about 400 years after Mohammad died that some Islamic scholar noticed the contradiction and started teaching that the scriptures had become corrupted and that's why they didn't agree with what Mohammad had said.
If you want to believe what Mohammad said about Jesus, which He got 600 years later from an angel(who told Mohammad he was Gabriel), that's fine with me. I think I'll go with the eye-witness's version. I'll stick with Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Hi! I'm a Muslim and I do not believe all Christians are unhealthy. There are Christians which might be form. I also have Christian peers! I've learn all of the feedback right here and it kind of feels that plenty of them are unhealthy mouthing Islam, however it is what they believe! they only do not comprehend Islam and simply leap into conclusions. You see, the Quran does not let us know to kill! Quran truthfully band us to kill! When there is folks who does not wish to transform to Islam, we simply allow them to be. It's their selection, now not ours. Maybe they could convert to Islam sooner or later. We do not love to battle. On the previous technology, we fought battle considering that the opposite aspect demanding situations us. Not simply that, we cannot simply begin battle with our possess will, we'd like premition from the God first. The Muslim that point used to be being refrained from from residence considering that they are saying 'Allah is our most effective God!' And lot's of non-Muslim bullies us, however we simply ought to be sufferer. But if it is going to a long way, it is alright to battle. Quran and Hadist additionally instructed us that we ought to admire different religions to! We ought to be form to all dwelling beings, even the non-Muslims. Our faith is strict with plenty of laws, however it is considering that the God cares approximately us. Now, everybody will have to quit criticizing different faith, and allow's simply see who is correct ultimately whilst it is the finish of all time we could? :)

The only problem is when they began the Muslim religion, it was based on Christianity and Christian texts and writings, some 360 years after Christ died...and some 360 years after Christianity essentially began.

In those latent translations, based on word of mouth rather than text originally written, things got lost. It is a copycat religion, changed to suit a race of people it helped support at that time period.

It essentially lost the three major components of our religious belief system...and those are the Father (God), the son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Ghost (the spirit).

Your religion, although mirroring ours in some ways, is vastly different, because our entire basis is based upon those three things and all throughout our bible the trinity is a major part.

I too believe we have very similar belief systems, with the exception of the fact that we differ in the three major things.

Good luck. I wish you well and many blessings.

I am fully aware what Muslims believe about Jesus. However, you fail to point out the fact that Islam denies that He died on the cross(how that is even possible I haven't the slightest clue?) and that He is God-Incarnate which is the central theme of the Gospel. So while Islam may like Jesus and revere Him as a prophet, Islam also denies many of the things about Christ that have been taken to be the mark of orthodoxy withing Christianity. Under that description it is easy to see how some think that Islam is just a Christian heresy run amok.

I am not a muslim. We believe in being kind to fellow human beings and even animals. We believe that god is everywhere, in the great oceans, the mountains, the meracle which makes a bud bloom into a flower, so on and so forth.
But since we do not believe that there is only one god and we are not muslims, you decide we will burn in hell, on our death.
I would like you to understand other relegions and other concepts of god as well. You seem to be a good person. It will make you better.

ATK,
Yes I did. And thanks for reminding me.

You see, it's like this. The same text where you will find the oldest writings, or translated writings about Jesus say that Jesus said that He is God, and those that were with Him also said that He was God, and so we are unable to think that He was not God. There will never be agreement there. If we were to believe that Jesus was not God, we would have to throw away our Bibles and discount it as truth.

But since I am not willing to believe another source for the truth, I will always stand upon Jesus is God. he said that He is God, and that He existed from everlasting to everlasting, I AM in The Gospel of John.
