JuglingSuns,
I'm afraid not. We learn a lot by reading the news. Lebanon has Christians in it.

You are always good to see.

I'm just trying to figure out where you got the idea that Christians want to have Israel. What kind of Christian said something like that?

Hi ya!!!
Hope you are well...
Most Lebanese Christians are Maronites and there are small minorities of other types...Most Maronites, believe it or not, are supportive of Israel.
Christians of Lebanon...
The Maronites are the largest of the Christian groups. They have had a long and continuous association with the Roman Catholic Church, but have their own patriarch, liturgy, and customs. Traditionally they had good relations with the Western world, especially France and the Vatican. They traditionally dominated the Lebanese government, and the President of Lebanon is always Maronite. Their influence in later years have diminished, due to their relative decrease in numbers, but also due to the Syrian presence in Lebanon, which generally benefited Shi'a and other Muslim communities, and was resisted by most Maronites. Today the Maronites are believed to compose nearly 20% of the population, scattered around the Lebanese countryside but with heavy concentrations on Mount Lebanon and in Beirut.
The second largest Christian group is the Greek Orthodox Church. The church exists in many parts of the Arab world and Greek Orthodox Christians have often been noted for pan-Arab leanings; it has had less dealings with Western countries than the Maronites. They constitute about 5% of the total population, not counting the Palestinian Greek Orthodox community.
The remaining Christian churches constitute another 10%(350,000) of the population (Greek Catholics i.e. Melkites about 200,000, Armenian Apostolic, Armenian Catholic, Syrian Orthodox, Syrian Catholic, Assyrians, Protestants) with no single group over 5% of the total population. Please refer to their articles in the list above, for more information.

they are Maronites, and in Egypt and other African nations, you have the Coptics.
Eh? Because Ive heard certain Xtains say as much, that they were the true inheritors of Israel. And others have said that they wished Israel would become Christian, which is insulting. Which ones have said it? To me they sounded like the judgemental bible thumping type. They way I heard it was that we were interlopers, and that Xtians were the real chosen people, and Israel was theirs. Im sure it is a very minority opinion, but dont forget that Xtians went crashing into Israel during the Crusades. At least the Muslims werent killing us then. The Xtians just went in and killed everyone from what Ive read. So its not such a strange thought to have concerning the wonderful people that brought us the Inquisition, and ignored the Holocaust.

Most Lebanese Christians are Maronite Catholics, many are Greek Orthodox, some are Melkite Greek Catholics, and still fewer belong to the Armenian Apostolic Church or are plain ordinary Roman Catholic.
As for the answerer who said that Christianity had nothing to do with being Lebanese and vice versa, tell that to a Lebanese Christian. Besides even if people "rationally" selected religions completely independently of their ethnic and cultural background, the fact still remains a sociological question of what church most Lebanese Christians belong to, which I have taken to answering above.

Christianity has nothing to do with the lebanese.
the lebanese people have nothing to do with christianity.
It's a moot question.
Religion is a choice of individuals. What religion any intelligent person decides doesn't matter of what race of person they are.
You fundamentalists are sure judgemental.
