I have always bought Hovis square bread just because I like it, but the last few loaves I have bought none of them have been square, they are more like Warbatons shape. I would feel silly complaining but should I. I mean if Hovis are saying they are selling square bread, should it not actually be square?

If you wanted square bread and did not get it then you have the right to complain. The bread should be square if that is what it is advertised as

You could take it up with the shop you bought it from, which is only worth a refund, take it up direct with head office will usually result in some nice vouchers, taking it up with Hovis will result in even more vouchers.

My suggestion, take 2 slices out of a loaf, put them in the freezer, take the rest of the loaf back and get your money back.

Write your letters but do not include the bread, just explain that you have some frozen as evidence which you didn't want damaged in the post

ah you can have some fun with this. Take one slice, put it in an envelope, and send it to hovis with all of those thoughts above. Mention warburtons like you did there. You may never need to buy bread again.

A friend of mine did this a few years ago with a hob-nob.
