No meat eating, no illicit sex, no gambling and no intoxication.

These are the four basic principles that raise the living entity to the platform of human life from which spiritual life can begin.

These regulative principles are based on the four pillars of religion: Truth (satyam or honesty); Austerity (tapah or self-discipline); cleanliness (saucam or purity) and mercy (daya or compassion.

No meat eating is related to daya or compassion, paro dharma ahimsa.

No gambling/business speculation is related to satyam or honesty/truthfulness.

No intoxication is related to Austerity and self discipline.

No illicit sex means sexual activity outside of marriage for the procreation of children this is related to saucam or purity/cleanliness.

As a human being we are capable of 5 great papas which we should not do. They are

1. Avoid killing, or harming any living thing.

2. Avoid stealing -- taking what is not yours to take.

3. Avoid sexual irresponsibility, which for monks and nuns means celibacy.

4. Avoid lying, or any hurtful speech.

5. Avoid alcohol and drugs which diminish clarity of consciousness.

In place I would recommend the above 5 donots which almost all religions preach.

THe first guy has it, but I would substitute adultery with the 'covet' one. But I like Dawnsdad's answer too, but only when it comes to the masses, or organized religion. a persons relationship is personal, and individual. Not a group mentality, and that is why I have so little respect for organized religion. To paraphrase Anonymous "A person is smart; people are stuipd"

4) Don't commit adultery

This is my personal guess. Not 100% sure but sounds right to me. Why the question? It seems you are looking for certain things to make a point later on.
