i have reformat/pc recovery my laptop and i lost all my files - text, audio & videos. what i have now is a folder which supposed to be containing these files. however, the folder is unaccessible. i tried to use SMART DATA RECOVERY, but i only recoverered few of my files. i want to recover them all, especially my text documents & images. thanks!

try this software i used it and it was very good:
scavenger 3.0,but let me tell you that not always recover 100% some files became damamged so no way to open it again,and you can try this one for recovery:
bad copy pro v.3.75, it will recover destroyed files from your HDD.

Below are links of free file recovery software. You have to install them in a different hard disk having windows, and connect your formatted hard disk as slave disk. Instructions are given in the help files with the programs.

Before a reformat, you should have made a back up disk of all your important documents and files, so it may be very difficult for you to retrieve anything.
