We've got it - a dark brown leather suite and a cherry wood coloured parquet floor. Looks warm and cosy as we have a big white furry rug in the middle too.

Not if you have some nice furnishings to make it more cosy looking! My family has a leather three piece suite and laminate flooring but my mum has this really cool rug in the centre, its so soft on ur bear feet, really makes a difference. Plus the curtains and throw cushions as well make a difference!

may look cold in a room that doesnt get a lot of light. Could feel cold in winter too. If you want both of these, then how about a large rug and some really warm/soft looking cushions. You could also put a throw over a small part of the leather couch to warm it up...

Laminate flooring is now a bit passe and people are reverting to carpets.
They are much warmer under your feet and when you come to sell your property you will find it easier if it has carpets rather than worn looking laminate. It marks really easily especially with heels and you will be forever cleaning it.
The suite will look good with a plain carpet, beige maybe.
You can still use rugs for accent colours.

It all depends on the colour. If you go for a light ash floor and white sofa then it will probably look like a doctors waiting room but a nice oak or deep wod colour with darker leather looks great.

I've got Oak with black leather. It looks nice and is east to clean up after the kids!

What is important is the colour of flooring you go for, I would go for a medium oak or cherry as these give warmth to your room no matter the colour of your suite. I have Oak floor with Chocolate suite and i have no rug, as i find having kids it never stays in the same place.

I used to have this type of lounge and when it was cold...it was cold...but warm is was quite cosy. A rug would help, as will the colour of walls and sofa. Ultimately, it WILL look colder than with a carpet. Do you want cosy or fashion?

It could possibly try adding a big fluffy rug in the middle this will make it feel more cosy and plenty of cushions on settee too

I think you could soften it up with a rug, I don't think laminate is cold really, the right lighting could also make a difference.

I would throw a couple of rugs and maybe some cushions to warm it up a bit.
