Safety pins are not made of the same metal as earrings used for piercing, ie they are not surgical steel or hypo-allergenic. I would get some earrings asap and if they become hot or red remove them immediately. You can actually lose your earlobe and more because of infection, so be carefull.

thats really dangerous but u said u used the right stuff to clean everything with so here goes.
clean ur ears 3 times daily and make sure u leave the earrings or in this case pins for 6 weeks for complete healing, also it can become sore because u have a open sore in ur ear but that should go away so dont worry....also if the ear starts to hurt more and becomes infected just remove the pins and clean ASAP cause u can cause a serious infection.good luck

Most likely they are just sore because you pierced them recently----but make sure to keep a close eye on them through the next few days. If they get red, swollen or are leaking or oozing any type of liquid, go to the doctor! You would have probably been better off getting them pierced professionally for a number of reasons, but since you did it yourself, please watch them closely to make sure they aren't getting infected. Since the ear is a very sensitive area and they are directly connected to your ear canal, the chance for infection spreading is higher and can cause serious problems if it's left untreated. Also, make sure that when you handle them and clean them that your hands are clean! Hope this helps, and happy healing!! :)

Yes they should be sore. I pierced my left ear 5 times myself and they were sore for a couple of days. Just use alcohol on them and be sure to turn the earrings every now that then but make sure ur hands are clean.

Yes they should be sore, when I have my ears pierced they are sore for a couple of days. Make sure you somehow rotate them every couple hours and keep up the antiseptic.

Nature is sending you a strong message about messing up your body! A wise person would listen. A fool will ignore natures warnings.

Yes they will hurt cuz you pierced them. you essentially wounded your body and it has to repair itself (albiet around a piece of metal) so yes it will hurt...take some tylenol or generic not advil or ibuprofen it thins blood and can make you bleed more
