After colonoscopy emergency surgery was needed, or at least the doctor thought, but found nothing after going in. 73 yr old female bouncing back very slowly.

multiple medical problems, risk of heart attack or strokes during surgery, altered metabolism (medications are mostly tested in people in middle age), reduced rate of healing with age, slowed recuperation status all add up, keep working with her, she will come around, ask doctors if they would consider amphetamines as a good stimulant, these are not fda approved for this but some physicians use them with success, good luck

age and level of health is a big factor when surgery is considered....going under for surgery is serious and if the patient has breathing problems, etc...sometime it can be a major risk for surgery.... and age is also a factor in recovering....older patients can sometime heal slowly, and the surgery makes one weaker and need more time to recover... hope your family member or friend makes a full recovery and i send my best wishes....
