Which religion has prophets? Are there prophets today?

Please name any religion that has modern prophets. In other words, where can I find someone who claims to be God's current spokesman to mankind on the Earth?

Do you believe there are prophets on Earth today? If not, why not?

Yes the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has a living prophet.

We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

As Paul said in Galatians, he was taught by no man, but received his gospel through direct revelation from Jesus Christ. In keeping with Pauls adminition to keep his Gospel , it is necessary to have continuing revelation.

There are no prophets on the Earth today as Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the last prophet and messenger sent by God to the whole of mankind.

Messengers and Prophets were sent by God to guide people to worship God in the correct way after they had deviated. As the Quran and the true message is still available today, unchanged since revelation to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) over 1400 years ago, there is no need for any new prophet /messenger to be a spokesman to mankind on Earth. All that is needed is for people to refer to the Quran and the perfect example of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to be guided.

prophecy is a gift of the Holy Ghost granted to many for individual needs, like family leadership, or to do a good job as a Temple gaurd, BUT for a mortal to be called of GOD to deliver a message(s) to the entire world is wht we are discussing here, ok? This way of communication to the human race by GOD through a single human was, WAS, a common way. These prophets, all spoke of Jesus Christ the comming messiah. They all, pert near all,had another thing in common. Martyrtom. GOD's wrath became full at the wickness of humans. No more prophet's after the 12 apostles were likewise martyred. The world had no prophets or church or priests of GOD throughout the dark ages & beyond. [about 600 AD - 1800AD] GOD reestablished this "prophet-type" mode of communication NOT because those humans were repentant or would not murder the prophet. The wikked ness had grown, but the way of GOD is to send a prophet before He destroyes a planet, and because this is the time for this world to pass, a prophet was needed to do it up right. SO yes..the prophet was set up and named Joshep Smith, but no the LDS wern't so special, so they got a prophet. There will be no Enos City translated [perfect commune or holy order]The bible stays as is, the correction to it are repossesion what was taken over the dark ages. The addional scriptures are also holy but not called bible.

Oh,yes there are many self proclaimed prophetic and apostolic churches today whose apostles and prophets claim they have up to date words of God,but be careful they are frauds as Benny Hinn and others.They spread thier net all aronund the globe.

If they really exist, how come they can't go public and prove themselves to the world? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
