Many people have a vision of God as being a benevolent, kind, loving being - what if he was more like a grouchy auto mechanic who created the universe - he loves his creation, but he's grouchier than some think he is? For Star Trek fans, what if he's more like Q than Deanna Troi?

it seems you are confusing yourself into thinking that superhuman beings can also have the frailties of human shortcomings

My God who is Spirit is neither cranky nor grouchy...maybe a pragmatist (reality, if you please) & opinionated (doesn't want people murdering others or selves, for instance). My God is Real. Not only that, The God I know is kind, benevolent & loving.
I can credit this God with saving my life several times, as from drowning, suicide, etc...I ask myself 'Why' when not others? The only answer I get is that there is something he wants me to do...like tell others, 'Yes, God is alive & still active in people's lives today. I know because I have seen the Spiritual Light of the Holy Spirit & I have heard His/Her Voice...as in saying, 'If you do Nala, you will go to prison'. He/She did not threaten, was not angry...just calmly stated a real fact...if I killed my husband, yes, I would go to prison. I was in a state of shock, was not rational...and the Voice brought me back to reality...fast. (To answer your unspoken question, the result was that we got a divorce instead... not good, but far better than murder/ suicide.) I cannot express enough, Yes, God is Real, Yes, He intervenes in people's lives even today. And yes, I am very glad that I know & do not have to wonder about His reality or take on faith even that He is Real... just as I have been told since childhood.

Last thought someone gave me...I believe in God when I feel Him not just as I believe in the sun when I see it not.

May the Peace of God enfold you. Love, Nala
