Stopped by state trooper for speeding. I knew I was speeding, he knew I was speeding, so I'm not contesting that fact.

My question is that when he pulled me over, (in excess of 15 miles over the posted limit) he told me that he was going to let me go with a warning, and to slow down.

With that warning he still gave me the ticket for speeding. However, he didn't require me to sign the ticket which states that I would appear in court.

I have been issued tickets before and was ALWAYS made to sign them (or be taken in to the magistrate for failing sign).

I don't want to delay getting a traffic attourney, but I don't want to call the court clerk and possibly bring up something that is better off forgotten.

Any advice, suggestions, or ever been in this predicument (of not signing a ticket that is).

Thanks in advance

Signing a ticket (citation) is a promise to appear in court...or pay the fine before the stated court date. If YOU did not sign it....you are free! But....keep your copy in case someone forges a name in lieu of your signature.

specific, if an officer has own understanding of a violation, the cost ticket might nicely be issued later and the different technicalities might nicely be waived by way of the courtroom or merely corrected on the spot, in case you contest it in courtroom. Magistrates gets a commission to handle violators all day daily, yet they nevertheless do unlike people dropping their time with frivolous defenses. seek advice from an lawyer till now you fly off the cope with and get greater hassle than it extremely is worth. specific, combating an unlawful cost ticket is worth doing. yet you are able to no longer deny the information.

you are still requried to pay the ticket dont believe other stories about if you dont sign you dont have to pay. if the tickets not paid or you dont show up in court a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest. show up in court and tell your story and maybe the judge will listen. GOOD LUCK!

for a "warning" ticket you dont' appear in court and there is no fine, he is just warning you.

He did it on a ticket so he had a record of it, It does not show up on any computer records ( at least in GA it don't)
It just shows his supervisor that he stoped you and warned you but let you go.
