went to the state fair about a week and a half ago. I was out from about 10AM to 7PM. I couldn't stand the lines so I only drak what I would guess to be about 5 cups of liquids(8 oz) the entire day of walking around outside... and it wasn't watere, it was iced tea. Since that day, I've been increasingly lethatrgic. Today I almost passed out after I got up from smoking my fisrt cigarette of the morning. (And I mean I really almost passed out. I got extremely dizzy and things started tuning black... I had to sit down right there.)

Anyways. I noticed my stomach's been upset lately and today I feel really nausous, and I don't feel like eating. Muscles in my back keep spasming and I feel really lethargic. My arms and leg are tingling even. My head hurts too, and I can't concentrate.

Could I be severely dehydrated. I thought I might be just sick or something, but then thougth back and realized I've only been drinking about 3-4 cups of liquids a day.Am I just overreacting? What do Ido

OK, first off, tea is a diuretic. Basically meaning, it makes you have to go to the bathroom which takes the fluids out of your system. On a hot day you should drink ALOT of water and stay away from teas or coffee because they are diuretics. I would go to see your doctor if you are still having problems because there could be an underlying problem. At the very least I would call your doctor and see what he/she tells you to do. It sounds like you could be dehydrated... Signs of dehydration are dizziness, not urinating as much as usual, lethargic, etc... Drink alot of water and go to your local grocery store and pick up pedialite... (its for dehydration, vomiting, etc..) It will put the electrolytes that were lost from being dehydrated back into your system. You should feel better after you get those electrolytes back into your system but call your doctor and see what he/she says as well.

If you think you are dehydrated, try drinking Pedeolite. Stay away from caffinated drinks. Drink 50/50 Pedeolite to water. This is the best way to overcome dehydration quickly without an IV.

You know you can die from dehydration. Sounds like you are having symptoms of a heat stroke. Get some Gatorade and drink the entire bottle, and go to the emergency care, quickly. Don't smoke any more cigarettes. If you are dehydrated, you need potassium and the electrolytes that are in the Gatorade, but you might have need of the IV as well. You need to be hydrated quickly.

It could be mononucelosis. I've had it and it sounds just like what you describe. It will be the worst sore throat you've ever had accompanied by extreme fatigue. Try some cholorseptic for the short term, but get to see a doctor as soon as possible. If it's mono, they'll probably give you some good pain medicine. If it is mono, then you'll have the "bad" symptoms for about 1 week, but it will take about 1 month to get over the rest of it. They say also that it can take up to 6 months to fully recover, and that you can have mysterious "fatigue relapses" for the rest of your life, although the most horrible symptoms will not return. Good luck. P.S. A sure sign is extremely swollen tonsils, throat nearly swollen shut, and if you have a girlfriend DON'T kiss her until your better, and BEWARE OF MONO-BREATH! All that junk in your throat makes a foul cocktail and will instantly wilt flowers, kill small animals, and turn off your gf's sex drive for 8 months!

you could be dehydrated or you could have a slight touch of stomach flu as well, or it could be a combo of both. if it doesnt clear in another day i would speak to a doctor, try having clear broth or some tea or any other kind of liquid, force yourself even if your not in the mood as dehydration is something quite serious

ok.. based upon your information, you have mild dehydration. if ever you have diarrhea, do not stop it. just let it flow, for it is a defense mechanism of the body to get rid of unwanted substances and organisms in the body. All you have to do is buy an oresol solution tablet and mix with water. it's salty, so if you dont like the taste, you can drop the tablet in a soda, preferrably sprite. dont' worry it is safe...you a glass of this solution everytime you poop.

now, home remedies can also help. mix a tablespoon of salt and a teaspoon of sugar in a one liter of water... then drink it everytime you poop.

if it does not help.. please have referral to a nearest health center.

I would first suggest that you quit smoking. It is a nasty health hazard that kills people. You need to see a doctor plain and simple. There are alot of things that could be going on there. "I almost passed out after my first cigarette of the morning." should be a big clue. Get to a doctor. Maybe you have lung cancer or brain cancer from smoking. You won't figure it out here so start asking your doctor.
