I watch what I eat and make sure none are acidec like tomatoes or oranges. I also at night sleep with my upper back in a somewhat sitting position but yet still lying down. just so that my body isn't flat or above my head. It all depends on your body what might work. I have acid reflux as well as a hiatal hernia which causes the acid reflux to be worse than without it. I sometimes if its bad eat some extra strenth Tums sometimes I eat them all day long but not exceeding 15 a day.

Good luck

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://bitly.im/aMGtW

The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

heartburn the most common symptom of acid reflux disease (also known as gastroespohageal reflux disease, or GERD). Heartburn feels like a burning pain in the center of the chest. It is caused by acid from the stomach backing up into the esophagus. is a symptom of acid reflux disease (GERD) Also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Avoid foods that are highly acidic like ones that contain tomato puree and eat slowly. Acid reflux meds usually don't work instantly so you have to stick with them for a while (at least a few weeks). You could try Gaviscon tabs or liquid for immediate relief. Acid reflux is miserable so I wish you luck

Try drinking 2-3 ounces of water every 15 minutes til symptoms are relieved, or you start to slosh. The doctor that recommends this says dehydration is responsible for the condition.
Glutamine, DGL, Sano-Gastril, MSM, and monavie juice have all been tried with some kind of success for someone. Adelle Davis recommends you take high dose B vitamin complex and extra pantothenic acid.

i had this condition for 3 years. I was made to take Nexium 40mg once a day. usually you have to stay with the medicine for a couple of weeks for it to take effect. like with the medicine i mentioned above, i had to take it for a certain number of weeks at a certain dose then stop then return to the meds on a lowered dose. i had to change doctors twice for this medicine to work the way it did. also you would have to change your diet and start eating healthy stuff and avoid the more acidic foods. it helps if you lose weight too (if you're overweight, that is)

my daughter has acid reflux. thing we found to work for her was taking 2 tums before going to sleep every night, sleeping with her pillows slightly propped up, and not jumping straight out of bed in the morning but sitting up a bit at a time, giving her stomach a chance to settle down before her feet actually hit the floor. i hope this works for you as i know she was desperate for answers too

I had it for about 3 years. It went away for me after I changed my diet and eating behaviors as well as got relief for my anxiety.
