I'm thinking on retiring soon and would like a apartment near Niaggra Falls area. What should I do and how do I look for one from the U.S.??

First of all, even though you can come to Canada without a temporary resident visa doesn't mean you can settle here permanently - without status what you want to do is ILLEGAL. You need to have permanent resident status in order to access social or other services or to get a bank account.

Once you have permanent resident status, you can search for a place to live and about living conditions on this site:

get the local paper and start looking for apartments as you would do in the US, Make sure you have 3 good references that will give you a thumbs up when asked about your previous rental history and about your character...Most renters call ...
