No. Contrary to what internet "scare sites" may try to fool you into thinking, MSG is approved by a lot of major organizations in the world. The Wikipedia link given by the previous person should support that.

Using common sense, if MSG is so deadly, why isn't it a big issue in China in Japan? They use A LOT more MSG that most western cultures; surely MSG would be banned in Asian countries by now if it were that dangerous?

Japan is a major producer of MSG. So why do they have the highest life span in the world?

Truly, the misconception about MSG in the western world is astounding. I myself consume large quantities of MSG on a regular basis (I cook asian food every day, and put soy sauce, fish sauce, etc which all contain the substance, AND I put extra MSG on top of it) ;)

My family has been doing this for generations. I've never heard of a single case of diabetes or cancer in my family tree.
