so far in the US.this year there have been 38 officers killed by gunfire. a total of 107 officers killed in the line of duty.(accidents assault etc.) if you would like to find out more visit www.odmp.org (thats the officer down memorial page)

Do you mean police getting shot or vice versa.
In S. CA it is both.
A few weeks ago in La County cops were getting ambushed almost everyday for a two week period.
Usually when a person gets shot, they are a criminal, on drugs, or someone called cause they couldn't handle them; and the same person that called, complains.

nationwide is a federal statistic, state wide is state statistic, etc

too many facilities to contact in order to get the information.

the nation may gather the info from state, and state from city, but I doubt they have a complete run down of how many numbers and where.

you got alot of calling to do :)
