I think I would pick the time with my family. Money is fickle, you don't know how and when it will leave you but if you have a good relationship with your family then they will always back you, support you not just in good times but also in bad ones. There are plenty of people on this planet who are successful and rich but they are still not happy because there was also a time in their life when they had to choose between family and money and they chose money and now that they have everything, they are lonely, they don't have anyone whom they can call as their own, they don't have anyone to share their feelings and their love.

I would rather spend time with woman & child rather than work for money. Especially if i was going to get deported.

The idea is to balance the two. I'm not entirley sure what being deported has to do with it, but there needs to be time and money. assuming that the one working is supporting the family.
