My Verbal section is bringing my whole SAT score down. Does anybody have any tips for how I can do well on the critical reading portion of the section?

It's been a while since I took the SAT.

Make sure you read the question CAREFULLY. The wording can be tricky, so spend time understanding that first. They give you 4 multiple choices, and two of them are obviously wrong. Eliminate those two, and you really only have two answers remaining.

Another tip: The first paragraph and the last summarize the information. The body of the essay supports those statements.

I hope this helps. Try not to stress too much when you take the test. Colleges look at more than just your score when you are being considered as a prospective student. Remember to get a good night's sleep the night before, and eat a good breakfast. Bring some candy and/or gum with you to help you during the exam as sugar stimulates the brain Best wishes.

For the vocabulary part, get some SAT books with SAT words in them and start memorizing, and after a while see how much u can remember and memorize the rest again. Grammar part is probably best improved by asking a teacher for help. Books are too limited for this part.
