Oh I'm sorry your Mom is having such a rough transition! And in turn - You and your family! Truth is, Menopause is a permanant change! The mood swings and the other side effects should soften as time goes by! Be patient with Mom. Maybe sit down and have a quiet chat with her and let her know your really trying to be helpfull and understanding. Ask her to be a little more understanding of the fact that it may be her hormones that are making things around home so tense and emotionally charged.
Most of all let her know that you love her and are doing your best to support her. But also need a little help and understanding yourself! Most of all try to be patient. As all things, this too will pass! Mom will adjust to her new feelings tword the world around her and the world around her will adjust to her new views on the world - eventually! Good Luck!!

its a state all women go through post 45yrs (approx) and it lasts 'forever'.... so there is nothing you can do abt it. Just be patient with her and feel yourself being in that same situation many, many years down the line and see how you would want people to react towards you because of it!
That should make you see the situation in a different light. Give her space and pray that the Lord continue to give her strength. Its not the end of the world u know!!!

It can last a very long time, during that time the hormones are doing a number to her body, try and have patience with her its not easy on any women . She should go to the doctor and be checked up and her can give her something for the mood swings. Maybe you could talk to her if not try and talk to a close friend or aunt maybe they can intervene.

Well, she could do what I'm doing which is taking Premarin or some other estrogen compound. That would certainly make her less crazy. I tell you what, it may increase my chances of getting cancer by .01% but I'll take my chances with that rather than make my life and the life of everyone else in the household hell for 10 years. I'm not that much of a masochist.

hi, umm yer at one stage my mum went through menopause, and i hated it, because everything was blamed on me, its was so annoying. But i guess no one really knows how long it depends on your mum, if it is really bad then i guess it will last for a while, but if not it wont last forever.
I hope thats enough info u need.

It lasts forever honey! Its a permanent condition that all 45-50 yrs old women have that will stop their sexual life forever.... Just be patient and let her see a docter for some drugs that would clam her down a little bit. Hope she/u would feel better soon! LOL

10 years or more. but the first 10 are the worse. no body can do anything right as far as you are concerned. one minute you are happy, then crying or screaming. yea its tuff to go through. just remember she really doesn't mean what she says or does.
