One idea is to put together a care package. You could give her some things that she likes a lot but might have problems finding abroad, such as her favorite candy bars or something like that. Maybe include of mix tape of American music that she probably can't get there. It's probably cheaper than gold and silver and a little more personal.

How about one handwritten letter on a nice letterpad everyday? Just write one line..."Missing you" OR "Love you so much" OR "It's hard to live without you" etc..it's easy to find these type of oneliners.....
Just imagine, how great she will feel if she will get one letter evey morning....Try it out.
