I am ashamed to admit I have wanted to return to NFL since I first was there on a student exchange trip when I was 16, back in 1968, but have yet to return.
I just loved Saint John's. I have been to Southeast Asia 5 times, Europe twice, Mexico many many times and the US of course, but the cost of airfare to NFLD from Vancouver is so high, I have avoided it thus far. I am a typical Canadian who knows more of other countries than my own.
Newfoundland seems more like its own little country, than the other provinces of Canada, with Quebec as an exception. I admire and envy the people there who really seem to identify with the province and know what a Newfie is all about. For such a small city, St John's has so much character and culture and history, compared with my own city of Coquitlam, BC, which is just a bedroom community of Vancouver. Too bad it's cheaper for me to go to Europe or Japan than it is to travel to Newfoundland!

my ex-boyfriend who is still one of my really good friends has a Newfoundland Labrador, and that dog is one of the cutest nicest dogs ever. He's huge, but he's worth keeping.
