Usually it';s better to put some distance between yourself and an ex to give yourself time to heal emotionally before you can move on to a friendship. I'm friends with quite a few of my exes because I realized that while I am a great person and so was he - we just weren't right for each other. When I was younger it may have just been age and immatureity but as you get older things change.
So if it hurts now, you can say you'll try to be friends, but you may not be a very good one until you move on.
Good luck :)

The last women that said " Can we just be friends" I said "NO, I got lots of friends, I was looking for a lover and as you are not it, I feel I must move on and keep looking." She called me two days later and wanted to get together. I said "No think you" She didn't want me until she though she couldn't have me so I'm still looking ... LOL

why do you have to get over her? friends don't hurt you if you think they won't. sometimes, when a relationship don work out, being friend will be better and you never knows whats in for you in the future.

it depends on if you can face living without her in you life, im in a similar situation and ive decided that being friends is better than not being anything at all, sorry if that sounds cliched but its true. Its something your going to have to figure out on your own

she could become one of your best friends ... but u have a difficult road ahead to control your feelings ... give her some space and time and maybe she will see that u are the one and start t see u as more than just a friend ....

How about quit your crying. Suck it up, accept that she only wants to be your friend, and either be cool about it or move on. Simple as that. :)
That'll be 2 points please. Thank you!
