Blenders are neat as long as they are the glass ones those plastic ones suck. The glass keeps my beverages colder much longer which is great when mixing up a large batch that wont all fit in one glass.

After just finishing a remodel and getting an appraisal, my appraiser says the good money is in hardwood (or pergo ) or stone flooring, Stainless Steal appliances in the kitchen, granite or silestone counter tops.
With the trends in cooking and entertaining I would also say Cooking items, like good knives and cookware. Outdoor Kitchens are huge right now, so really nice grills and often outdoor bars.
Nice bedding is really popular too, something with a HIGH thread count made from silks or satin type fabrics in neutral tones.

Panini presses are hot right now...fondue is back in style ...so those are pretty popular right now as well.
