We hired a woman to teach my daughter how to speak French. She comes to our home every Monday's and Wednesday's, and we pay her quiet well. Lately, she's been bringing presents with her such as store-bought cookies, or plants. When I ask her why she bought this stuff, she tells me because we've been treating her so well. I don't want her to be using the money we pay her to buy us these things! How can I tell her this in a nice way!

Just accept the gesture. Obviously she is not in poverty that she needs to save every penny.

But then again may be you doubt her intentions. If so, you really have to figure out if you are imagining up some issue and when you reach the conclusion, follow your instinct.
