You ever wonder how far can Bush go to get us deeper and deeper to closing to WW III? I am a writer and I look at a lot of things going on. Somethings really disturb me.

First of all we invade Iraq,, oh well so be it. We invade Afghanistan... oh well so be it.

But now in the last 6 years we have seen a lot of things also happening.

China: Upgrading advancing the militay technology. Also a long time supporter (though they may deny it) of activity in N. Korea.

N. Korea: suddendly doing nuclear weapons tests despite the fact that they know we will probably retaliate or attack them, depending on what they do end the end.

Russia: and this really got my attention last night when i was thinking about it. They are working a lot suddendly with a navy that has been untill recently, rusting in the sun. They've lost what? 2-3 subs to accidents?

I am reading things that say that they are also running a lot of naval runs with fleet sized units.

Why are these three countries,

suddendly working so hard to put a military action together? I think our worst fears might soon become reality.

Russia-N.Korea-China military alliance... And the US has our military stretched out so far in so many areas, wonder how it would come out.

ok i admitt that writers dont know everything (all though Clancy seems to know a lot) In fact, Red Storm Rising, according to a general who was asked about its realism, said that (6 years before Stealth technology became public) it was very realistic of a story.

I am just saying that while we haev Iran, and some other countries, we have the 3 biggest super powers (all though we may not think of them that way anymore) suddendly doing things we thought they had given up on.

Russia let its navy virtually rust apart, but suddendly they seem to be trying to get it up and running in what looks like a very big way.
China imports what? 70%+ of its natural resources (like Japan in the 30's) and its a wonder why we havent fought them yet.

N. Korea is a starving nation suddendly trying to cause problems in what might have been their twilight of country.

You add those three together into a military force you have a problem.

who said anything about conquering america?

China and Russia could do enough damage just in their own neighborhoods

Iran could go after oil

N. korea could probably seriously damage the Asian market (TOKYO)

Isn't it amazing how writers are always negative when fighting wars. But when you talk to the soldiers who are the real hero's fighting you get a whole different story. Especially about how wonderful the people are and how nice they are treated. Now to get to the other part of your story.
When dealing with N Korea and Iran, if there is a war, it is not because of the us and our government. It will be because there is a threat out there and we want it stopped. If other countries would do their part and save themselves we would not have to get involved. If we sit back we have to go in after the fact to rescue those countries in trouble, then it is almost too late to stop the problem.

I'd hate to jump in the "invincible America" boat. But I don't think those three countries could honestly "kick our asses".

The war would be close and tough, but there is no possible way that China, Russia and North Korea could ever conquer or defeat America and her Allies. Our military is much more technologically advanced than you'd think. It's much harder using technology, fighting our current enemy, than it would fighting those three. In a "non-guerrilla" style war, the U.S. is quite formidable.

Besides that, trying to occupy America would be 100x's worse than Iraq.

well, the world is running out of easily accessible cheap oil, cept in the mideast, and even there it is getting scarcer. Some military muscle needs to be flexed, at least the pols think so cause its easier than actually being diplomatic and smart and making some tough choices to get off oil. The fact that all this war gaming show is using immense amounts of oil, basically wasting it, just shows the idiotic mentality of these gits.

i think the begining of ww 3 has already begun, and from the technological advances teh world is experiencing, it may be the last. we are also alliancing iwth japan now and bush has said that we will help japan should they come under attack. and england on our side too. so we're all screwed. lets just hope the UN puts a stop to it

WW3 is the war on terrorism and fascism in the Islamic world. You can also put in there liberalism because most of the world is unwilling to fight these killers.
