Im from Australia and sometimes I think we sound really monotone. What do you think?

I think the English language in general sounds flat and monotonous compared with many other languages.
I am Australian too. I am not sure if the Australian accent is any more monotonous than other English accents, but I think we Australians slur words together more, and speak more softly than other English speakers. We seem to have a lazy, relaxed way of speaking.
My favourite accents come from the south-eastern area of US, but I couldn't name the states.

I think the Australian accent is great, I've worked with people from Australia and find the accent very nice to listen to and easily picked up.

I enjoyed listening to Marlon Brando's Japanese accent in "Teahouse of the August Moon." Half Japanese, half Bronx! For sheer melodiousness, there was an African woman I talked to once who had a wonderful accent! Or listening to a Russian speaking English...I also enjoy the Deutsche Welle announcers on occasion. I'm not picky!

Man, I just like accents! It's terrible, when I get around someone with an accent (to me) I start talking like them!

I love how British people speak. I hear a British radio station through the Internet just to hear them speaking, all day long. Well, they put on really good music too.

I LOVE Australian accents. I am from the states more specifically the south and I love all foreign accents
