For the same reasons (at least similar reasons) he would fail today. Only a chosen few people can take such a great leap of faith. Ironically enough the same people take for granted how or why electricity works (even though they can't see it), they just believe it will.

Yet someone perporting to be the Son of God, even with over whelming evidence (the dead being brought back to life, blind people seeing) and 9 out of 10 of them will say it's all just parlor tricks.

Faith is something you either have or you don't.

Who says He failed?
Scripture says He completed His "mission."

Nothing is "mission impossible" for God.
Dying on the cross, Jesus is quoted as saying, "It is finished."

Task complete. Job done. Mission accomplished.
As He was born into this world to bring salvation to all, when the job was done, He no longer needed to stay. He rose from the dead and returned to heaven 40 days later.

Failed....Mission.....I think he was quite successful....b/c he got it.....he was a Master of this earth....like many others he came in as a human....lived the life as fufilled and enriching for others as he possible could.....educated, enlightened, and inspired the people around him and seems to be still doing it to this day...so I would by no means say he failed...He ascended just like many others.....thats a sign that U got it....mission accomplished

First of all Jesus never failed in his mission he fulfilled it, for all of us.

How do we even know he had a mission. He could have just been some average guy who was spiritual and then years later others put him on the pedestal and said here is this holy guy and he is this and he is that. Now, here is what he wanted to achieve.

For all we know, not any of that really happened.

The only thing that I could say about this question is where Jesus was rejected and said a prophet is not without honor except in his own country.

Raising from the dead. Fail? You don't mean Jesus? Hmm I think you should rethink your question

He didn't fail. He stuck to what God told Him to do and he fulfilled all of the prophesies that were foretold about him and he died for our sins as planned, he never failed.
