Can military retirees join the reserve, keep their rank, and retirement pay? Any other other information on the subject would be very helpful. Thanks!

+ Retiree's keep the rank at which they retire.
If they go into a reserve unit it would be as a NON-pay volunteer. It is in the books, they can do it. They may enjoy some free meals and transportation and a few other benefits at gov. expense for their service, but they do not increase their retirement pay without being recalled to active duty. (yes that is another possibility) They can volunteer for recall to active duty and then they might have the opportunity to go into the reserves after the recall. There may be a high year tenure that precludes them from service. (I think that the army has the most liberal policy)

Retirees can only join the reserve force if they are still young. However, those who had retired due to mandatory maximum age limits, they are no longer allowed.
