Heidi is a very popular German name. Not sure if it's a great name for a dog though. Try watching a few German movies and pick out some names which would sould nice as a dogs name.

How about "Arwyn" from Lord of the Rings. It sounds German, even though it's Elven.
My fave German name is Sabine (pronounce the S like a Z)
So it's Za-Been-ah
