If so do you receive any treatment for it? Does it help you? Do you think that purging is serious if you are doing it 2-3 times a week?

its serious no matter what. i have an ED and it's something i deal with everyday of my life and i go to therapy for it as well. it helps sometimes, but at other times i feel like it doesn't do any good. it all depends on the mood i'm in.

repeated vomiting, even just 2 or 3 times a week, will slowly cause breakdown of tooth enamel, electrolyte imbalances, and throat ulcers. and if you binge and eat thousands of calories before you purge you probably won't even lose any weight becaus your stomach will hold down a percentage of the food.

you need help. talk to a teacher or nurse about this and they can point you in the right direction. or find a hotline number to call.

most of all, realize that weight is just a number on a scale. you can gain weight by exercising and still get smaller/look better. try to exercise instead of limit your diet. and never never deny yourself even a taste of a food yo like because it will encourage bingeing.

good luck. you're not alone

I don't have either and don't know anybody with either but I am sure that any purging is not good for you. The stomach acid can damage your esophagus. It can also lead to chemical imbalances.
