Most poverty in Africa is caused by civil war and political despots.
Robert Mugabe for instance has turned a country that was the bread basket of Africa into a virtual poverty stricken desert.

Political stability is the first and most important step.

Some countries like Ethiopia simply cannot support the populations. Their climates prevent good food production and with little or no natural resources they have nothing to build an economy on. The only answer here appears to be severe population control.

Whilst many would rile against it consider that aid agencies only feed a child when it is severely malnourished and then send it away when in reaches a certain level of health. There being no sustenance the child then quickly deteriorates to malnourishment again. Thus aid is simply elongating the suffering of these children in the way it is being used. Worse - the cycle of malnourished/fed/malnourished/fed is thought to cause far more stress and damage to organs and cause severe damage and ultimately likely leads to death.

I believe that the real answer must lie with Western countries easing back from the reactive way they administer aid and become progressive more proactive.

There's not much that can be done, apart from giving certain African leaders a slap round the back of the head and stop them blowing their countries funds in Mercedes-Benz car dealerships, and start spending the money on what it's supposed to be spent on instead, such as clean water / hospitals / schools / universities / benefit payments to citizens, etc.

The poverty in Africa is caused by the culture of the people and by political corruption. We can't help Africa until they begin to help themselves. A few assasinations would probably help except that the replacements may be just as bad as those already in power. No amount of aid is going to help until political corruption is stamped out.

I worry approximately this plenty. i attempted to get a earnings dance going for african charity. I supported an african boy in school for a 300 and sixty 5 days etc etc. yet prosperous american blacks look greater interested in victimhood and helping youthful (center classification) blacks here. maximum arent' even interested in traveling africa. i can not understand yet i think of it has something to do with keeping off the soreness of questioning with regard to the previous (slavery). i think of it quite is in simple terms too painful to look there. I talked to a guy in a black e book reading/communicate group and he stated the gang rejected something with something to do with slave cases. in simple terms did not opt for to envision it or communicate it or take care of it. i think of africa brings all that up - the middle passage and horribly painful issues. I wish and need that black human beings ought to get greater into the assumption you advise. yet i don't see it here in oklahoma.
