Good question. but my guess would probably be that your body is constantly demanding food for fuel. Do you feel more energy when you eat only 3 meals a day or when you eat 3 meals a day plus a a good snack in between those times?
and yes, excercise is good, it has not just many physical benefits but emotionally and pshycologicly (if i spelled that right) benefts.

Are you asking a question or giving a lecture?
Why is it so important to eat a lot? Who says it IS? The fact is, it isn't how much you eat but WHAT you eat that matters. And it's important that you don't overeat.
Eating more does not crank up your metabolism (you really need to do some reading on this subject if you believe that) and an hour a day or exercise or some type of activity does not count as being very active. That is a minimal to moderate requirement for good health.

Physical hunger builds patiently and gradually over a 2-4 hour period following your last meal. Physical hunger signals a preference that you eat soon, but it does not command you to eat the instant you begin to feel it. Look into: Listen to Your Body.
