Be hold , I set before you this day a blessing and curse

It is a good thing that i want to serve the lord, because I do not want to sever anyone.

Nobody has to set anything. God is built into the universe. The old testament is threatening in order to save the spiritual life of a hard people.

Oh, dear! As a fellow Christian (it looks like you're one, as far as I can tell from this pseudo-question) I would highly encourage you to check your spelling more carefully. We aren't called to SEVER anyone! Let's not give the God-haters any more ammunition. They seem to have plenty already.
