Do it a little at a time, so it's barely noticeable. My trick is to drink a full glass of water right when I wake up and right when I get home from work. Then I'm not frantically eating right away and can think about what I put in my mouth. And always take the stairs. Park far from the door. But the best is to stop drinking pop if you do and replace it with something else you like. Diet pop just triggers hunger. And I carry around a baggie of peanuts/almonds with me (or any nut) because it's great protein to keep you from buying crap between meals and it's easy to keep (no refridgerator, etc.) If you make the little changes and resist the pop, it's all downhill from there. Good luck!

How tall and what gender are you?

Compare yourself to a Body Mass Index for the 'correct' weight you are supposed to be, not what you want to be.
