is compatibility really important in a relationship? giving the other person space and freedom to do the things they enjoy is great, but if you can't enjoy doing those things you like with that other person is the relationship doomed? how does love come into play with this scenario?

It is soooo important. and it is also important to have your own interests. But, once the explosive chemistry is gone.....there can be a loss of interest in each other.
It is possible for people with little or no interests to be sucessful in a marriage but it takes a lot of work.
Case in point....I married fairly young to someone totally & completely different from myself. So opposite that if you met the two of us now, divorced nine years, you wouldn't believe it possible for us to have ever been in the same room let alone married. haha!
Now when I date I make sure there is some common ground.
I know who I am now and what I need in a man. I won't compermise and become what a man needs. I want a relationship with a man who enjoys going to the movies, who is down to earth, and loves intimacy. A man who is happy and knows laughter is essential to well being.
I married a business man whos goal was to be a millionair by the time he was 30, I wanted to be a nurse and save the world and go skiing and hitchhike around Europe. He is a three piece suit sort of guy and I am bluejeans. He rarely saw humor in anything. I was from a family that laughs. He found living for a future (which meant he was never available for the day at hand)
I believed people and relationships were more important than tasks. He worshiped money and power. I loved the kids and time with people.
I guess what is important is a foundation that is similar and also the ability to share a few interests.
Love and relationships are a risk...but a risk worth taking.

compatability is important in any relationship and even though you will both have varing interest there must be things that you enjoy sharing togather outside of sex if it a factor. In order for a relationship to work it takes work and sharing common interest, building memories will help a relationship to last.
If a realtionship is built on sex and I am not saying yours is, it will be fleeting and empty. if you cant share the things you love your relationship may not last. you guys should talk though if you haven't. All the best.

That is one of the major deal breakers in relationships. Along with Sex and Money. This goes under spiritual/Religion/Ideology/Political realm "kinda of" "The couple ripping off the 711 together could be quite content otherwise". Meat eater and vegan are not going to last 5 minutes in a relationship. So being the same Morally or in other areas in important.

personaly if the two of you are happy then things all just fit together, what you like to do and what they like to do. Not saying that relationships are easy its just that my husband and i have been together for 6 years and we have learned how to enjoy what the other likes.

well, lets see, you should giv ethem space and freedom and give them a chance of trust if one terrible thing that happens then just tell her you need her to earn your trust back. just give her a chance to have your trust. They all deserve a chance. if somethings going on with her that is unnussal and you are getting worried then you should talk to her. its not good keeping things bottled up inside and your true feelings just talk to here and ask her whats going on and tell her that you care. and tell her that she can talk to you know matter what she can trust you with anything

Besides sex, what do people who love each other do when they are together? Fight? Learn to do things the other person enjoys?

well you have to tell her how you feel express yourself in a kind way and maybe you guys can plan a special day for you guys so you can enjoy each other so you just have to plan on what you're going to say! ....um okay!?
