A girl told me that her sister liked me and gave me her sisters phone number. I wasn't really interested in her sister and don't know the right way to turn her down without sounding like an @$$hole. Worse, my friends were pressuring me into going out with her.

if you're not interested, then you're not interested. Just tell this girl that you are flattered her sister likes you. But at the present you are not interested in getting involved or meeting any one new right now. Simple as that. And don't worry about sounding like an @$$hole. No one has the right to dictate to you on who you should see or not see. You have the right to say "No thank you".

I would say, no lies!! Just honesty. This is what I would want to hear if I were to be turned down:
"Im sorry, but I'm not interested in you in that way."
Its the truth!! And its pretty offensive when a girl is being lied to in a "i-dont-have-time-for-a-girlfriend" kind of way, becaue that means you expect her to believe you, and thats sort of like calling her stupid.....in a way.
No matter what her friends will cal you an asshole simply to make her feel better, but in essence, you really wont be. =]

Just ignore the girl and your friends, if they ask again and again just say you're busy, you're seeing another girl, you want to be single at the moment, or just say the truth that she's not your type. Noone will think you're an asshole if you're just being honest. Anyway its about how you say it, don't be cocky when you say it, just say it in a casual way and then quickly divert the topic somewhere else more interesting.

Well this girl has feeling also. Think if u like a girl and this girl tried to turn you down, and you liked this girl alot. This girl u are talking about must have liked u alot to tell u that she likes u. Try dating her for a day and see her 'real' her. Experience, try it. She might even be ur soulmate.

don't listen to your friends..if you don't like her then u don't like her. The best way to let her down is tell her that she is so great and that she is just like a "sister" to you...usually a girl gets it. If not bring, bring up that u love to be the big brother type...hahaha..she'll get it then 4 sure!! GOOD LUCK!

You could just politely tell her that you are not interested in dating right now, and that being friends with her would be nice. Also, you should do what your gut tells you to, not what your friends want you to. Who knows, if you become friends with her you might later on want to persue her in a romantic relationship.

Well simple. Don't lead her on! My friend was lead on by a guy and she was HEARTBROKEN!!! and if she asks you out, just say I am sorry I am not interested right now, but maybe later. I hate when a guy leads me on.
