Wether you believe it or not, most of the Religions is purely business. It became an enterprise for it deals money for investment, for financing their personal interests and ambitions. You'll be rich if your are in the position/ staff on it, and will be poorer if you are an ordinary follower/ member of such Religion for you're always gave money for God/ Salvation as what the Church leaders said, but definitely its just a payments of their expenses/ bills comsumed in their church buildings.

No religion. I've heard that a "man with one true friend is rich" If that is true, then I am wealthy : )

I saw what you speak of many years ago. One of the many reasons why I questioned Religion and ultimately became Atheist.
To be fair If God did exist, then so many people are reaping benefits from His existence. People use and exploit Him and His teachings and get rich and powerful.

I am a muslim.According to Islamic teaching muslim should work hard for becoming a rich man and can help others who need help and also can pay Islamic taxes (income tax and wealth tax) and give alms or donation above of the religion obligation taxes.Allah in our holy Qur'an will not give His subsistence to us if we ourselves have no hard effort to earn it.
Our destiny will be changed by Allah if we work hard to change it.
But Allah also warns us that He will give a decree as our limit although we do not know it an advance.Allah spoken in our holy book that He will decide someone to be rich or poor as a testing for our patience and our thanks .Allah will give us disaster or
accident and blessings as a testing for our faith whether it strong or weak..So maybe we are poor because we still work no hard.In Islamic teaching during our lives we should work for this world and for the life after death in balance. We should act as if we can alive for ever in this world and also at the same time we should act as if we would be died tomorrow for the eternal life after death..In line with Islamic teaching giving help to others is better than asking help from others.

There could be some truth to what you say.

My religion, however, has made me very rich in spirit. I don't worry about others much. I concentrate on my own spiritual health, and serving those around me. Then I strive to teach my children to live right, do the right thing, always.

Meanwhile, I don't worry about those over whom I have little or no say-so anyhow. Hard enough to communicate to my elected representatives, let alone worry about organized religion.

Interesting that you should say this, my husband (who is a Pastor) just came home from a board meeting and said he will need to get another job because our church is so broke it can't pay him. He works hard and is on call 24/7. Give me a break. I don't know where you get your research, or what you have against churches, but you need to get a grip. Look and work on your own life before you start slamming someone else's. (That's biblical by the way.)

I am a Pagan and a Witch. I follow a path that closely resembles Wicca.
We pay no tithes other than to Mother Earth. This does not involve cash. My religion makes me rich in spirit.

I'm a Pagan, and I am just as average (finacially) as I was when I wasn't one. I put a dollar into the donation plate on the days I go to Pagan gatherings. 10% is not required at Pagan Circles.

My religion is Baha'i.
It makes me extremely rich and extremely poor.
Through learning and practicing its teachings, I realize that the One True God creates all the worlds and all the creatures visible and invisible for us all to enjoy and to share our thankful worship.
I also realize that I am extremely poor. I have no human leaders on my head to exploit me or for me to seek their material favor. As a believer for 50 years, I have no ordinary followers to exploit them. We are completely equal believers before God. I and all other Baha'is throughout the world have to work to earn our living, and voluntarily make contributions to our divine institutions for public services. None of us receive any material benefits from our religion. I duly love and respect all my Baha'i freinds, I sincerely consider myself as utter nothingness before them as well as before the rest of all mankind.
If I die today, I die in greatest happiness and in smallest jealousy.

I'm an Independant Fundamental Baptist. My church staff lives more modestly than I, and I know for a fact they work harder and they don't get sundays off. I'm just a soldier so I live modest myself.
