Praise is good. Rightly dividing or interpreting the Word is good.

People typically DO NOT know how to recieve either very well.
"praise" usually swells their heads up, or sends them on some kind of ego trip;
and criticism potentially lays the foundation for self-condemnation, OR sometimes, it simply places too much focus on the negative. Very rarely, does anyone recieve it in a "CONSTRUCTIVE" way - that would be too good.
Put two of them together and they equal "JUDGEMENT".
Nobody likes judgement...not really.

No problem with praise, everyone needs it. Criticism is rarely beneficial, it hurts and wounds people.

nothing, one is honest worship and one is self-examination when someone points a shortcoming of yours out to you.
