Better to be crazy. There are medications for that. You can't swallow a pill for stupid. Then there are those who have both. Too stupid to know they are crazy, or too crazy to know they are stupid?
Actually, I am a mental health worker. Crazy is a slang term for mentally ill, and it is a difficult, scary painful disease for all concerned, the patient, the family, friends, neighbors, and everyone who comes in contact with the person. Even with our advanced treatments and medications, there is still a stigma attatched, as I just demonstrated above. Even with mild conditions, the stigma can follow the person the rest of their lives. Most applications for most things in life have the question, "have you ever been diagnosed with a mental illness?" To answer "yes" means you do not get whatever you are applying for, like a job.
Think to yourself, do I know any stupid people at work? The answer is yes. Stupid does not limit the person from getting, or keeping a job. Stupid is self limiting, in mental illness, the diagnosis can be the limit.

Crazy is better. Proof: I just dyed my hair black for no reason and now look like Wednesday Addams. If i were just plain stupid, i would've mixed the dye wrong and ended up frying all my hair right off onto the floor.
So crazy is better.

Crazy people don't know they are crazy. That is a form of stupidity....
Stupid people can't help it, but still have a controled mind. Which means they are not crazy....
Blah, blah, blah am I crazy or stupid?

Well, to tell the truth, mental illness can be very very painful. If the person is hearing voices or extremely depressed, or the world spins when they move their field of vision too fast, it can be very painful for them. Just being stupid would probably be preferred. Listening to the liberal news media can accomplish that.

crazy and stupid will be consider idiomatic expressions.... somehow.... that's why lot of people are using those words to fool around with people just to laugh... so, crazy can be consider funny or naughty... stupid can be consider intelligent in some ways..
