The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.
I have more thoughts on improving fitness in my 360 Blog of September 10 if you are interested.

I have also always heard it is best to run in the morning, but honestly, my morning runs suck. I am so stiff and sore due to my horrible flexibility that I don't feel I really get much out of my early morning runs. I do eat breakfast before if its a long run though. I have found the only time of the day I can eat and do exercise right after is the morning. I always reasoned that my stomach had nothing left in it from overnight, so it was okay to put a little something in there.

I think it's best to jog in the mornings.. have something small.. a granola bar.. or else eat breakfast... and wait about an hour or so.. and then go far a jog.. or you can also go around 4 or 5ish...

i think that you should have a quick morning snack such as a piece of fruit and then run/jog. So just have something small and then maybe take a half of an apple just before your way back incase you get hungry.

An article I read said that the best time to run is early in the morning due to the heat and laso the lack of cars out. Emissions can do bad things to your breathing and you will get short breathed quicker.

Definately in the morning, run on an empty stomach, and then fill yourself up after u finish, in other words getting up very early in the morning before breakfast, going to bed early, your entire day will be refreshed and u will have energy u wouldnt think could be possible. And u enjoy eating breakfast alot more. I did it for my crosscountry coach. Then kept the habit. Good luck Dont run in the evenings (often) because it sets your body to having a hard time going to bed at night.

Your metabolism is highest in the morning so you should jog first thing in the morning so you can burn more.
