There are many Christians who do not believe in a literal heaven or hell and they do it solely for spirtual reasons. All of the principles in Christianity were taught thousands of years prior, some not mixed with a ton of contradiction. They call themselves Christians because the follow the TEACHINGS of Christ. They believe that he brought the "Word" of God and was a symbol rather than God incarnate. They also do not believe in a literal heaven, in their view heaven/hell are states of being... I'm not a Christian but that totally makes sense to me in a spiritual way.
Many are Universalist Christians. Jehovah Witnesses, old Church of God , and numerous other sects do not believe in a literal hell either....A literal place of eternal torment isn't believed nor taught in Judaism either.
Think about it; from Adam-Abraham through til Moses not a single warning of such a place. A little strange that Christianity bursts on the scene and tries to claim that a LOVING god would send creation there. Not only that but let 4000 years pass without a warning to the previous generations! Makes God look incompetent.

If you don't believe in Hell but conduct your life as the Creator would wish, you have a stronger character than one who has to be scared into acting properly.
How many politicians do you think believe in Hell?

Good question. If there's no hell, what did Jesus die to save us from?
I, a Christian, do believe in hell, and I don't want anyone--even those people who hate me--to go there.

I am a christian because i believe in God and Jesus, anything else is just something else to argue about.
I also believe in heaven, but I don't feel that I have to prove it to others, argue about it.
the important thing is Jesus and the price he paid to give me right standing with God.
To me the worst hell would be life without God.

Most Christians I know are drawn by a love for God, not a fear of Hell.

Waltz #2 (XO),
This is the focus, not Hell:
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
And how do we do that:
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
The reason why I am throwing scripture at you is so that you can see it I am not pulling it out of my butt. It's not an arbitrary way to God, but a way that the Bible says is to go.
Hell means little to me. I'm not going there.
