For some reason, Muslims object to the word "pedophile" with reference to Muhammad, even though its just a word to describe an adult who has sexual relations with children irrespective of whether the charade or marriage is a part of it. So, just know that by the word "pedophile", we include adults who go through extra ceremony when desiring a sexual relationship with a child. Heres the Islamic scripture (haddith):

“the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he CONSUMMATED HIS MARRIAGE when she was NINE YEARS OLD” http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/bukhari/062.sbt.html#007.062.064

So...are westerners who assert that the act of pedophilia is a disqualifier of a legitimate claim of prophethood or is it not unreasonable to believe that God could appoint a pedophile to be the everlasting and perfect example of human conduct? A model for all time?

Pedophilas can be anyone of any religion. But there were times that
God permitted this to repopulate the earth after the flood. Not ony Muslims are Pedophiles, look at our

Islam has to accept this one.

This is one the West and Christians don't take to.

I don't think the Jews do, either.

Islam is going to have a hard time living this down in the eyes for alot of the world, especially liberated women!

It's bad enough that a small minority of Christians think it's cool to go to the Middle Schools and find wives, the Muslims think it's cool to go to the grammar schools to find them.

There's a lot of Western Woman who will fight to the death the stop that from happening!

And I'll join them!

to true believers the idea of pedophile does not even come up. It is a judgment made from outsiders, however we also must take into account changes in time and beliefs alike. Which is more odd, Muhammad being married to a child or Jesus having no wife in his lifetime? When looking at history and beliefs at the time Jesus remaining unmarried was far mor unheard of and raised more eyebrows than Muhammad marrying a child.

oh wait -- Lot-pbuh consummated encounters with his daughter when she was 3 yrs old. and in India, child marraige was banned not more than 50yrs back. (see it today even in Rajsthan -- try oing there sometime) just try checking the Marraige registers of other countries too and what you see may shock as well as enlighten you. in that case Slomon, David, Jacob and Lot -- should all be Not considered prophets. but the question remains -- who has given the authority for us to judge them?.

Snobbery. Remember, Mary was only 12 when Jesus was conceived. There was a time that 13 was considered adulthood. Only modern society is crazy enough to make sexually capable people wait and stay separate throughout the period of their strongest sexual urges. Of COURSE there are going to be unwed mothers and all kinds of sexual pressure on 'children'.

To answer your question technically, it's just western opinion.
If and when Muhammad did this, it was not against any laws of the time, God's or man's. It was probably quite common in his society. It's unfair to judge past actions by current standards.

regrettably, in accordance to the Bible, human beings like Muhammed (peace be upon him) have been deceived by ability of devil who comes masquerading as an angel of light and who seeks to entice human beings faraway from Jesus the Son of God by ability of giving them a exchange or "anti-Christ" to worship rather. announcing that the religion of Islam "honors" Jesus by ability of calling Him a prophet of God is like me announcing that I honor somebody by ability of calling them a primate. that's authentic that people belong to the order of primates yet so do monkeys. human beings have been created in resembling God and Jesus on an identical time as a prophet is the eternal Son of God. a million John 4:a million loved, don't think each and every spirit, yet attempt the spirits to work out no rely if or no longer they're from God, for many fake prophets have long previous out into the worldwide. 2 by ability of this you recognize the Spirit of God: each and every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come interior the flesh is from God, 3 and each spirit that does no longer confess Jesus isn't from God. that's the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard became coming and now could be interior the worldwide already. John a million:a million interior the commencing up became the be conscious, and the be conscious became with God, and the be conscious became God. 2 He became interior the commencing up with God. 3 All issues have been made by way of him, and devoid of him became no longer any undertaking made that became made....14 And the be conscious grew to become flesh and dwelt between us, and we've seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the father, crammed with grace and fact. 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no ask your self, for even devil disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it rather is not any marvel if his servants, additionally, conceal themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
