If you want your babt to get pierced ears younger is better only because.

The pain is quick, and really not that painful, but a little bit for those tender ears.
The baby would not be scared and anxious, they would be cooperative

Umm it just seems easier, lol.

When they are at least 12 years old. Piercing a little baby's ears is mean. You're causing the baby pain that it doesn't understand just so you can dress it up with your jewelry. Have a heart and don't do this to your baby! Later on, when she's old enough to understand that the pain is temporary, and that it's something that she can choose to do or not do on her own, THEN you can let her have her ears pierced. But not a baby...

Think of it this way - would you pierce her nose, or eye brow, or nipple? Would you get a tattoo put on her? If not, then why is it OK to do an ear.

They say that you can peirce a baby's ears at a year.. or at about the same time you can start cutting it's fingernails. But I wouldn't suggest it. A child will end up tugging on the earrings, and possibly eating them, or ripping open the ear several times until she's about 7 or 8. Also, a baby wouldn't be able to keep it clean, so infections can be a big problem. I would wait until they turn 8 years old. Give them the peircing as a birthday present.. IF they want it.
Some girls I know wish their parents had never peirced their ears.
I had to wait.

I can't remember how many times I've been walking through the mall and heard some poor baby girl shriek in pain. It twists my stomach. I don't know why anybody would do that to a baby. Would you stab her with a pin? Of course not. Ear piercing is the same thing.

Personally I think it should be left up to the child when they are old enough. I told my daughters father that when she is old enough to want earrings and is old enough to understand the importance of keeping them clean then we can get her ears pierced.

when the baby grows up and decides for itself. I think its soooo wrong to make a choice for anothers body before they can even say mama.
it also is making a choking hazard possible...babies fidget.
also my wife and several past gf's have no pearcings nor tats

let the choice be the persons...not yours!

Wait till your kid can tell you if they want their ears pierced. I'm thirteen and a girl and I can't see why anyone would want a hole in their ear.

Babies with earrings look ridiculous and look like 'trailer trash', why not a tattoo instead?

And the baby has no say in this? It is his/her ears and he/she is the one that has it the rest of their life.

My opinion is to wait until the child is old enough to ask for them specifically.
