LIke i said try God first and He would revile himself to you! If all of you guys are saying well "i tried but i didnt!" whatever you probably DIDNT LOOK FOR HIM RIGHT! or you didnt go to the right place to find him.. and for all those people talking about religion! ITs not religion that makes you believe in God and its not religion thta takes you to Heaven!!! What gets you to Heaven is Accepting Christ has your Lord and Savior. Look for God and he would be found by You! Looking for him is not just going inside of a church, its actually looking for him which is (trying for those who cant) praying asking Him to revile himself to you! He will take care of that! If you feel he hasent well he did in some way maybe you didnt bother to see! I know He lives because he Lives in Me! Who else could create this earth we live in. ANd if your atheist and dont believe or you got out from Christianity go back and make sure what church your going to! Ask God for Guideness. God bless

Can't breathe. . . Can't stop laughing. . .
revile:
–verb (used with object) 1. to assail with contemptuous or opprobrious language; address or speak of abusively.
–verb (used without object) 2. to speak abusively.
—Synonyms 1. abuse, vilify, vituperate, berate, disparage.
May I suggest you pray the Flying Spaghetti Monster touch you with His noodley appendage? I'll try it your way if you try it mine.
Seriously, though, wouldn't pretending to believe in your god and pretending to worship him be as much of a sin (according to your religion) as not believing in him?

Going through the motions is not belief and I have seen nothing of religion that remotely inspires me to make such a futile effort. And revile seems an apt term to use. Christians revile non-believers all the time.

I do not judge that there is not a god.I use logic and reason to determine that there is no god. You are right about one thing though...when studying religion I was reviled. Belief in a god that displays the most negative of human emotions (anger, jealousy, temper tantrums, vengence and so on) is not only a crime of injustice against humanity it is immoral. When a system of confining scripture tears families apart, subjugates one life to another, breeds hypocrisy despite itself -- when the dogma ends up breeding only dogs -- that's when I sign off and look for a better story, one that doesn't declare my entire gender to be unclean and the root of the world's woes.
I did try belief first. It broke my heart, but allowed me to find myself within the truth of reality.

Okay, I know it's a typo, but it's damned funny.
For the record, I used to be Christian, but left Christianity to follow a different path. I do believe in God - just not the Judeo-Christian concept of him.

Riiiigghhhttt.... I think I'll start asking SANTA for presents again as well. Here's a thought: maybe I did try to believe. You know what I found out? I was bullshitting myself and wasting emotions on nothing, no one. If I'm going to believe in jesus, and no, I will not captilize that, I should believe in santa or angels or maybe the easter bunny. I refuse to bullshit myself. Therefore, I do not believe.

Believe bc end times are closer than you think.
Ask Jesus into your heart and then sit back and watch His power. But you have to seek Him(Jesus) with all your heart.
Jer 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Well Mustang Susie, if you don't believe you don't have to. But when you have a problem I hope you call on God and not Santa Claus. Jesus loves you. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: " I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."........For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength

If you don't believe in Allah why don't you try him first? If you don't believe in Zeus, Appollo, Aphrodite, Thor, Odin, why don't you try them first?
We atheists don't believe in God because, in my case, I DID try him and found nothing there except self-delusion. He never revealed himself to me. I refuse to delude myself, as you so obviously enjoy doing.
